Why “Salt River”?

We’re called Salt River Publishing after a 300-mile stretch of waters that come from the White Mountains in the eastern part of Arizona, westward and southwest to Phoenix – the location of Salt River Publishing. The Salt River and its numerous tributaries provide drinking water along the way and for the entire Phoenix area, as well as feeding 1,000 miles of irrigation canals for crops.

In a desert terrain like the one you see in the photo on our site, a little water means life – for plants, animals, birds and people. Tributaries flowing into the Salt River are what have made it such a tremendous resource for hundreds of years.

For us at SRP, we see a river of inspiration and encouragement emerging from the flowing together of artists and publishing professionals: everybody benefits – readers, writers, artists, editors, designers, and our “for-social-profit” investors. This idea of abundance and mutual benefit is what is behind the Salt River name.
